Hi everyone. Today, I am sitting down and really looking at things differently. These last few weeks, I have been doing a lot of reading. I have been jumping between two series. The first is the Wolf Ranch Series by Renee Rose and Vanessa Vale. The second series is the Wind Rider Chronicles by Allison D. Reid.
You are probably wondering why I am jumping back and forth between these two series. Well, the reason is I bought them both in paperback. The Wolf Ranch series has 9 books and I believe I am on book 6 in the series. I love this series because it is in first person and it features romance and wolf shifters. The characters are simple to fall in love with and the book doesn’t strain your thoughts any.
As for the Wind Rider Chronicles I have read two books in the series out of the 6 books. The first two books are full-length high-fantasy novels. I would read these books straight through but they involve a spiritual journey that I take my time to work through. In Journey to Aviad and Ancient Voices I found my journey in faith growing.
The growth isn’t just from reading the books and seeing how the Christian values are spread throughout the pages. I am also going through a Bible study for the entire year. It helps you break down the Bible and read it from front page to the end. This journey with the Wind Rider Chronicles really makes you look at the twists and turns of faith. Then what man does to one another is evil. I’m hoping to continue on in this series to find more ways to brighten my resolve towards my growing faith. I’m also hoping that Allison the author shows women can make a difference too. So far her main characters are nothing but children but they hold so much power in the journey Aviad gives them. I hope they stand at the forefront of the battle of good versus evil.
I love these books but I take a break and read other books between them. This is mainly so I don’t get sucked up into so bad. Plus, I read these books several years ago. I never got to book 3 but plan to start that in the next week. If you've never read the Wind Rider Chronicles I would strongly suggest you do. They are a wonderful series that will open your eyes and help you see the glory of God through a fantasy element. Aviad is based on our God, Christ, and the Spirt. And Allison does a wonderful job showing how each intertwines together.
But to change the topic. I have been writing but with books I have been reading influencing me. I’ve started to rewrite Gargoyle Sighted from a first-person perspective and keep The Emerald Knight third person. I find I enjoy writing in first person; it is way more fun. When I write in third person it seems more serious.
