An anthology that shows the magic of friendship...
What are your top 10 favorite books/authors?
I would have to say that this is a hard question. So I am going to try to break it down by which series I love the most over the years. I will list the first book in the series along with the series name with author. And then break down why I loved it so much.
ONE – Song in the Silence by: Elizabeth Kerner - Series Title: Tales of Kolmar Series
This was the first book I read with dragons in it. It showed the love of one woman and a creature that wasn’t like her. It really pulled my heart strings and made me love dragons all the more.
TWO – Dragons of Autumn Twilight: The Dragonlance Chronicles by: Tracy Hickman & Margaret Weis
I stumbled on this series when I was in middle school and high school. Spend most of my teen years working through these two authors books. I loved the world and it inspired my own world creation from reading these pages. Still a big fan of these books and plan to reread them again soon.
THREE –The Lightning Thief by: Rick Riordan - Series Title: Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series
When I was in high school the Percy Jackson books were a big series I followed. It was popular with my friends but I hoarded my books to myself and tried to keep my opinions to myself. I didn’t like sharing my books with other because they half the time would take the book home and never give it back. I pretty much got all Percy Jackson books in hardcover from when they first came out at least for the first two series. I haven’t gotten further into them than the first two series though.
FOUR – Eragon by: Christopher Paolini – Series Title: The Inheritance Series
The first book was given to me when I was in the hospital after a suicide attempt when I was sixteen. My uncle got it for me and I spent my free time reading every single page. It made me enjoy myself as a person and made me want to do more with my life. I loved the books so much I read the next one and followed along with the series until the final book was released. Wasn’t to happy with the ending seemed to simple wanted it more complex and exciting. But I loved the series all the same.
FIVE – Green Rider by: Kristen Britain – Series Title: Green Rider Series
When I was in high school I stumbled across the “Green Rider” book by Kristen Britain one time when I was at BN. I spent hours in that store and found this beauty to purchase. The strong heroine I fell in love with along with the romance that is between her and the king. But the turmoil she faces left me lurching in pain and the cliff hangers left me screaming at the end of each book. So far I have read all the books but the last one. I’ve been putting it off because one I don’t want to open the book that is so pretty, but I don’t want another cliff hanger with a year long wait for the next book. Needless to say I have been at this author’s mercy for over a decade now.
SIX – Owlflight by: Mercedes Lackey – Series Title: The Owl Mage Trilogy
Another author I found at BN was Mercedes Lackey. I found the Voldemar series and The Owl Mage Trilogy too. There were probably over thirty to fifty books on the shelves and I spent most my adolescents reading her books right and left.
SEVEN – Sold to the Berserkers by: Lee Savino – Series Title: The Berserker Saga
Now my reading has changed a lot since I was in high school or college. When I read books back then it was mostly epic fantasy or fantasy adventure. Now my days are filled of steamy romances with a mix of paranormal romance/fantasy romance. Lee Savino is by far one of my favorite authors that is in the indie world. She has written so many books I love that I can’t even put them down. I have read all her books in The Berserker Saga and the others for other series. She has me to the point where if she publishes it I will read it without thinking twice about it. My only hesitation is having the money to buy them all as they come out.
EIGHT – His Human Slave by: Renee Rose – Series Title: Zandian Masters Series
I would have to say that the first Sci-Fi Alien Romance I read was Renee Rose’s Zandian Masters Series. This series I fell in love with and read until the very end. This led me to reading other Sci-Fi Alien Romance genre books by other authors too. But I learned about Renee Rose thanks to Lee Savino due to them doing The Shifter Ops series. Which made trying a new kind of series genre by Renee easy since I already knew I loved her style of writing.
NINE – Captive of the Horde King by: Zoey Draven – Series Title: The Horde Kings of Dakkar
Now along the way with my obsession of Sci-Fi Alien Romances I stubbled across Zoey Draven and her Horde Kings of Dakkar. At first I wasn’t sure I like the series but fell in love with it and read the entire series over on Kindle Unlimited. I do plan to go back and buy the print editions later on when I save enough money. But this was one of the series that stood out to me through my kindle unlimited binge sessions.
TEN – Bleu Pops & Razzlebaums by: Stephanie Ayers – Series Title: A Coven Cozy Mystery Series
As I grew in my author abilities I made a friend in Stephanie Ayers. First I fell in love with her horror books that made up “The 13 Series.” But I actually found a love for paranormal cozy mystery stories through her and the Coven Cozy Mystery serie books she wrote. I own all the books in eBook and in print. Really enjoyed these books and found another genre I love to read.

Without a word, the fairy motioned for her to follow. Karigan waited a moment as the fairy flew to the opening of the cave. Great, I suppose I have to go in there now! Irritation was growing with every step as the entrance loomed a few feet ahead of her. But the sound of the rushing water began to calm her. Maybe it won’t be so bad. Perhaps something interesting is inside, like that time Father and I found that little den in the Wood.
She waited for Alia to tell her to go in. To her surprise, the little fairy twisted and swooped inside. The little ball of blue light helped ease her fears and allowed her to see that the cave wasn’t too deep. Karigan walked forward. examining every little detail and wondering what kind of creature called this cavern its home. Towards the back she saw shimmering lights reflecting on the stone wall as Alia hovered near the edge. Hmmm… I wonder what that could be.
As she approached the spot, the smell of moss filled her nose as a little trickle of water splashed the stone floor. The little trickle opened into a basin which created a pool of water, almost like a water dish. Two feet from the little pool was a large broken stone. The peculiar stone piqued her curiosity, so she adventured over to investigate it.
“Alia, can you come closer so I can see?”
The fairy swooped down, landing on a nearby rock.
“Here, how’s this?” Placing her hands together a bright light formed. Karigan watched it float across the distance then stop above the item she wished to see.
“Wow, why didn’t you use that earlier?” As expected, the fairy shrugged her tiny shoulders. “You didn’t ask.”
A snort escaped her, startling the little fairy. Serves you right, you little menace. She kneeled down, looking inside the funny rock. It must have been round to begin with. After inspecting it, she concluded that it must have broken from the inside the way the pieces were scattered across the cave floor. “What kind of creature lives in a rock?” Shards of light reflected off the sides, looking like glass from the inside.
Alia snickered. Karigan was about to ask her what she was snickering about when rocks slid by the entrance. “What was that?” They both looked towards the bright opening as a small growl filled the cave. “Helblazes!”
